First of all, it should be noted that for both adults and children, the consumption of sugar can be very harmful to health and cause diseases such as diabetes, obesity and other cardiovascular conditions.

In both adults and children, the World Health Organization (WHO) recommended reducing the intake of free sugars to less than 10% of total calorie consumption, also adding that, if the reduction is made below 5%, there would be additional health benefits.

The importance of instilling good eating habits in children so that they have stable health

It is very important to instill in children from an early age about good eating habits. Sugar is everywhere because of this, professionals are creating more and more awareness about how sugar is an addictive substance. According to medical recommendations, the daily intake of sugar in children from 1 to 3 years should be a maximum of about 17 grams of sugar per day.

Sugar in children's diet can cause problems that affect the metabolism, heart, teeth and even the child's school performance.

Some of the problems derived from the consumption of sugar in the children's diet:

-Increases cholesterol and triglycerides.
-It causes obesity because it increases the caloric intake. This is the main problem affecting children in developed countries.
-It can cause diabetes, the second most common chronic disease in childhood.
-It has no nutritional value as it lacks vitamins and minerals
-Raise blood pressure
-May cause pancreatic damage
-Favors the appearance of dental cavities.
-Hyperactivity, anxiety and depression.
-Lack of concentration.
-Heart problems

In addition, something very important must be taken into account. Like many drugs, sugar causes a release of dopamine in the brain, which can cause people who take it to lose control over their consumption and start taking it in high amounts.
