Tesla will supply photovoltaic energy to the entire island. In total, about 30,000 users who will benefit exponentially in their electricity bill. The company has signed a 20-year PPA contract and will supply the electricity at a price of 13.9 cents kWh.
This amount is a third of what they paid so far with fuel on the island.
According to Tesla itself, the island of Kauai will stop consuming 6 million liters of diesel, with the consequent reduction of emissions into the atmosphere.
